Finishes 2011 & 2010

1.  String Quilt
This was my oldest UFO, 8 years old.  The quilt was complete, except the binding.  It sat in a box for 8 years just waiting for binding!  How is that for procrastination? The quilt was made from scraps left from a quilt my daughter made.  I had never done string piecing before, I really enjoyed it.  This was the very first quilt I where I did free motion quilting.  It nearly went into the trash many times over the years, but I am glad I kept it.  It is nice to see how far I have come as a quilter in the 8 years since I made this.
Begun 2003, Finished January, 2011

2. Make Life Runner #1
These runners were cut out in summer of 2010 and assembled in February 2011.
Quilted and finished in April 2011.

Both runners were quilted with simple straight line quilting, and have Ivory Kona Cotton on the back.
3.  Make Life Runner #2
The Circle Runner

4.  Cross Weaves Quilt
Moda Cross Weaves fat quarter bundle was purchased on clearance sale, 50% off.  The pattern is called Amish Puzzle.  The top was completed in October, 2010.  It was quilted by Pat Boeck, long arm quilter extraordinaire in November, 2010.  The quilt was then abandoned until April-May of 2011 when the binding was finally added.

Here are a close ups of the quilting on the front and back of the quilt.

5.  Fresh and Fancy January Runner
Another finish for UFO Domination, this runner kit arrived in January 2010.  I finally pieced it in January 2011, and finally, finally finished it 24 May, 2011.
The aqua fabric is Simple Abundance by Bonnie and Camille for Moda.  The red is a Robyn Pandolph line, but I can't remember which one, the white, I have no idea!

6.  The Skinny Companion Runner
This runner was pieced with the scraps from the previous runner.  It is a little skinny runner to go on top of the sideboard.  I would like to have made it a little differently, but this is as far as the scraps would take me!  This was started on 23 May, 2011 and finished on 24 May, 2011.

7.  Halloween Table Topper
This topper was a four year old UFO, and now it is a fun finish! Started in September 2007  and finished 10 June, 2011.

8.  Fun Flowers Quilt
This quilt was made during the Layer Cake Quilt Along.  The fabric is mainly from the Fun Flowers Collections by Lakehouse Dry Goods.
Some close up photos:

9.  Poetry Collection Quilt
This quilt was made with fabric from the Poetry Collection by April Cornell for Moda.  It is another UFO DOMINATION finish.  It was a UFO for at least 5 years, possibly longer, I simply can't remember.  The pattern was a Moda University Pattern.  The long arm quilter did a lovely job on the quilting.  I had truly adverse light conditions when the photos were taken.

Colors and prints look better in this photo.

The late afternoon sunlight streaming through the window really shows the texture of the quilting.

This photo showing the backing is the best representation of the colors in this quilt.
10. Wonky Squares Baby Quilt--Boy Version
This quilt and one that follows were started in October 2010 for the That Girl, That Quilt Quilt Along.  I finished the tops, and ignored them for months.  Finally pieced the backing and again, the quilts were ignored.  Got myself busy and FINISHED both of them!  Last stitch was taken on 14 July, 2011.  Fabric is Love U by Deb Strain for Moda. The quilts are about 45 X 45.
