A Lovely Year of Finishes February Goal

A Lovely Year of Finishes

Choosing a goal for February was easy!  After just a moment of thought I knew exactly what I want to do. This time I won't be finishing something I started, I'll be starting something new and finishing it-- I hope!!
Last year for Valentine's Day my husband gave me these darling Cosmo Cricket prints from the Tailor Made collection.  Aren't they darling?  And yes, it is wonderful to have a husband who knows that fabric is the perfect Valentine!  I knew immediately that I wanted to make a sewing machine cover with them, but here it is a year later and the prints haven't been touched. 2012 was the year of big quilts for me, and so far 2013 is looking like the year of small projects! The time has finally arrived and soon they'll be meeting my rotary cutter!

The Kona Crimson and Ruby solids are going to be added in the mix, as is this lovely natural linen.  There will be some hand embroidery in deep red, but I haven't decided exactly what it will be yet.

Here's the stack together.

I'm really excited about this!  Still drawing little doodles trying to decide exactly what I want the sewing machine cover to look like.  I'm having lots of fun with different ideas.
Are you doing A Lovely Year of Finishes?
What are you going to Finish?

How fun - something for yourself! I like the look of the fabrics together. Hope you pick a design you love and don't lose the binding ;)
HUGS!
Have a Great day!

Absolutely love those fabrics. Your husband did a great job. I don't think mine would even know where to begin. Hmmm, maybe I could hint at a gift card to a fabric shop for valentine's day.

I think your hubby is a keeper! :) I am excited to see what you stitch up - I know it will be delightful, and adding embroidery to it will only make it more glorious!
