Hanging Out with Granny -- WIP Wednesday

After discovering my backwards block debacle with my 3 Color Challenge Quilt I needed a distraction, as well as a WIN.  A few months ago  chopped up a stack of fat quarters from Breakfast at Tiffany's by Fig Tree into 2.5 inch squares, tucked them into a little plastic box, stuck it in the sewing room closet and have felt them calling me ever since.  It seemed like the perfect time to pull them out and play a bit.

For months and months I've watched Granny Square quilts crop up all over blogland and flickr. I think the quilt are just darling, and here I go following the trend.  I planned to make a couple blocks just for fun, and then go back to my To Do list and get busy on one of my WIP's.  Yep, that was the plan.....

Why didn't someone explain to me these blocks are like potato chips???
Why didn't you all WARN me of the danger??

You can't stop at one!

So far I have SEVEN!  And I know I am not finished with them yet because I still have squares in that box, begging to be sewn into more blocks!  I have a feeling I might not be able to stop until the box is empty!

My Favorite One!

Today I must be good and work on my sample blocks and whack up stacks of fabric! You see, it is my turn for squishies for Sew Blues Bee and it is time to get ready!  I'm really excited to play hostess this month!  We have a really wonderful, talented group of ladies in our bee, so I've decided to ask them to use their imagination to create a garden for me.  I'll show you what I am up to soon!

Hope you are having a fabulous Wednesday!
I'm going to hook up with WIP Wednesdays with Lee of Freshly Pieced today.  Be sure and have a look at the linky party over there.  You are sure to find some inspiration!

Happy Stitching!

I love your colors. I am usually not a fan of the lighter colors but these are warm and calming. I especially love the block with the darker rose squares around the center. It really pops.. You are inspiring me!!
