Hello There! I'm Back!

Hello There!  Thank you all for the kind wishes for a good recovery from my little accident.  The burns on my hand are pretty much healed, and it looks good.  My fingers are still rather sensitive, but that gets better each day. This period of idleness made me rather crazy!  I finally did a little bit of sewing on Friday, and I'll be doing some today.  It was so nice!  I can't tell you how much I missed my sewing machine! Soon I'll have something new to show you!

I want to add my voice to the many others you've seen online over the last week. Blogger has a new word verification interface and it is just about as annoying as it can be!  Reading the little scrambled up words is nigh unto impossible.  And of course, if you don't get the words right the first time, you get a new unreadable word to try and type before you can post a comment.  Leaving a comment takes much longer, and often I am finding myself so frustrated, I'm not leaving a comment at all.

The ever lovely Madamme Samm has a little tutorial with perfectly clear instructions if you'd like to turn off word verification on your blog. Easy, peasy, and just takes a couple minutes.

Theresa, of The Run*A*Round Ranch made this great little button.   I'll be adding it on my sidebar.

If you are worried about spam, there are two things you can do: enable comment moderation and disable anonymous comments.  I strongly encourage you to Turn Off Word Verification!  Give it a try!  Chances are, you'll have no troubles!
But-- If it doesn't work out for you, you can always turn it back on....

Happy Blogging and Stitching, everyone!

Thank you for linking up to the instructions for removing word verification! I tried to do it on my own...and could remember that there was a box to uncheck, of course, I didn't think to look for it on the old interface! I seriously never would have found it on my own, thanks!

p.s. I had to prove I wasn't a robot to leave my comments here...?

I turned my word verification off. So far no trouble. Love the button, very lol.

Glad to hear you're doing a little better. I found washing my hair the hardest chore when I've burned myself in the past. Hope life is getting back to normal.

I did think their verifications were more challenging....sigh...wonder why they felt the need to change it?

Glad you're back to sewing....I never realized how much it's a part of who I am and how much I really enjoy it....until this month. I know you can relate.

Can't wait to see what you're working on. Have a great week!

Sorry about your hand. I'm glad it's better.
I had noticed that stupid word verification thing too. I went and set mine back to no verifications.

Hurrah I had a good rant about my hatred for word verification this week and made a button too! I had no idea there was already one out there!

Nice to read your Blog again. I have my Blog setting as no Anonymous and I haven't had any trouble with spam. Sewing is a healing thing for me too...

I have problems commenting on some blogs since they made these changes. If there is a drop down menu asking for what ID to use, it won't allow me to post a comment. It has become a real pain for me.

Glad you are back! I am hoping I won't get spammed...I took the words off my blog. Those fuzzy words are horrible! Love the button!

Since I changed mine to no word verification, I've had 2 anonymous spam comments. The spam filter caught them, but I was wondering when I changed my settings under "Comments" and "Who can comment?" to Registered Users - will that allow everyone who wants to comment to be able to do so?
