Passing It Along. . .

Last week I received two very kind emails, from two special bloggers.  One email came from Wendy, the Calculating Quilter, and the other was from Marta, Polka Dot Classic.  Both of these lovely ladies sent me the Versatile Blogger Award.   Wasn't that nice?  I've "met" both these ladies through blogging, and through a couple online quilting bees.  Talented, talented ladies!  Both share their creativity and kindness on their blogs.  If you haven't visited each one, I hope you will soon!

These little awards make the rounds of blogland regularly, and while I have seen some folks complain about them, I think they are a so kindly meant.  It is nice way to say thanks to someone who's blog inspires you, and to share links to blogs others might not have seen yet.  Where would bloggers be with no one to read our words? With this thought in mind, the blogs I chose to pass this award on to are all recent discoveries for me, and many are relatively new blogs.  I hope you'll be able to visit them all and find new friends.

The award says I must tell you 7 things about me. . .  EEEEEeeeek!. . . Well, here goes!

1.  I can't sing.  I can't carry a note in a bucket, let alone an entire tune!  But when I am alone, I sing all the time, sometimes to music, somes to whatever ear worm is buzzing through my head.

2.  I sing to my cats.  In fact, I make up songs about my cats.  One of my favorite ones, goes something like, "was a quilter, had a cat, and DAISY was her Name-O, D-A-I-S-Y. . . "  You get the idea.  Okay--I'm a little weird. . .  possibly more than a little. . . .

3.  I wish I could eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

4.  I love to read, and have had a love affair with books since I was a little girl. My favorite way to read a book is cover to cover in one go!  I don't get the chance to do that very often, but when I do, I revel in the whole experience.

5.  I'm not much of a shopper, unless it is for FABRIC!  A shopping mall = Dante's inferno!

6.  When I was six years old I got my first pair of eyeglasses.  I am extremely nearsighted.  EXTREMELY!  The eye chart at the optometrist office,  I not only can't read it, I actually can't even find it with my glasses off!  I'm not kidding!  I once had the doctor tell me to read the smallest line I could.  "Okay", I said.  "Any time now", says the doctor.  "Okay", I said.  "Please start now", he says.  "Okay", I said.  "Where is it??"  Then the man picked up my glasses and looked through them, and replied,   "oh.......never mind."

7.  I had the chicken pox twice.  So did my daughter.  It is uncommon, but not really that rare.

Now, for my list of blogs, in no particular order, for you to visit:

1.  So Sarah Sews
2.  Piece and Quilt
3.  Poppy Makes
4.  Redirected Dreams
5.  Pins and Bobbins

Congratulations and well deserved. Thank you so much for including me in your passing of this award. Let me first say what you already know, and that is, you are the reason I started my blog. I have had so much fun doing it and promise I will post more often now that I am 100%. Thank you for all the help and encouragement.

Your blogger friend.

Awe, how fun to read more about you. Hmm....now I'm thinking that I don't know that I've ever seen a picture of you! I've seen your hubby peeking out from behind the quilts...but I think I've got a made up picture of you in my head. =) Or is there one that I missed?
